Combustion Characteristics of 0.5 MW Class Oxy-Fuel FGR (Flue Gas Recirculation) Boiler for CO2 Capture

چکیده

A 0.5 MW class oxy-fuel boiler was developed to capture CO2 from exhaust gas. We adopted natural gas as the fuel for industrial boilers and identified characteristics different those of pulverized coal, which has been studied power plants. also examined combustion without flue recirculation (FGR), is not commonly in plant boilers. Oxy-fuel involves a stretched flame that uniformly heats chamber. In oxy-natural-gas FGR combustion, water vapor included recirculated stabilized when oxygen concentration oxidizer 32% or more. While delay observed at partial load it other modes. flow rate fullness decrease but, except upstream region, temperature near wall distributed lower than air because effect radiation. For this while heat flux modes more 60% larger downstream region. When were employed boilers, 90% obtained, enabling capture, sequestration, performance satisfying regulations.

Flue gas treatment for CO2 capture

This report is in two sections: the first describes the flue gas and its treatment in post-combustion capture and the second covers the flue gas in oxyfuel combustion capture. The main components of the flue gas in pulverised coal combustion for postcombustion capture are CO2, N2, O2 and H2O, and air pollutants such as SOx, NOx, particulates, HCl, HF, mercury as well as other contaminants. The ...

Effects of nitrogen content in fuel on NOX emissions under oxy-fuel coal combustion

Oxy-fuel coal combustion with flue gas re-circulation is known to be one of the most promising methods for reducing CO2 emissions from coal combustion power plants. In the oxy-fuel system, the combustion atmosphere consists of only O2 separated from air and flue gas re-circulated from a stack. Therefore, the flue gas is dominated by CO2 without any nitrogen gas. The most attractive potential as...

Energy Savings Potential through Waste Heat Recovery from Flue Gas for Post Combustion Co2 Capture

Flue gas from a plant using fossil fuels contains CO2. Thus power/process plants using fossil fuels contribute to climate change if CO2 in flue gas is not captured. The process of CO2 capture from flue gas is called „postcombustion‟ CO2 capture. Existing plants may be retrofitted with this process to minimize CO2 emission. Amine solutions are mostly used for this process to scrub the flue gas. ...

Characterization and Prediction of Oxy-combustion Impacts in Existing Coal-fired Boilers

Future use of coal for power generation in the US depends on technologies being made available to capture and store CO2 emissions from power plants. A key candidate CO2 capture technology is oxy-firing of coal. Application of oxy-firing to existing power plants presents unquantified challenges as the characteristics of oxy-firing compared to airfiring have not been fully determined. This presen...

Development of New Potassium Carbonate Sorbent for CO2 Capture under Real Flue Gas Conditions

In this paper, the development of a new potassium carbonateon alumina support sorbent prepared by impregnating K2CO3 with an industrial grade of Al2O3 support was investigated. The CO2 capture capacity was measured using real flue gas with 8% CO2 and 12% H2O in a fixed-bed reactor at a temperature of 65 °C using breakthrough curves. The developed sorbent showed an adsorption capacity of 66.2 mg...
